We were up early again this morning and set about packing our gear for what was to be a longish (5.1 km) loop walk comprising one level 3 and two level 4 walks. The plan was to walk along the ridge bordering Dales Gorge to Three Ways and Circular Pool lookouts and then descend into the gorge. From here we followed the Dales Gorge trail along the base of the gorge to the Circular Pool, Fortescue Falls and Fern Pool before once again ascending to the carpark at the end. Along the way we were treated to some spectacular views, beautiful wildflowers and wonderful scenery. We also swam at Circular Pool and Fern Pool just above Fortescue Falls. a few times along with reading books on the shore of the pools. Then it was back to the motorhome for a late lunch and a sunset walk later. All in all a wonderful day.
Our blog created to record our experiences as we travel around the western side of Australia during the winter of 2017. Still trying to see as much of the planet as possible. We hope you enjoy our observations and holiday snaps.

Day 45 - Port Hedland to Dales Campground, Karijini National Park - 12 September 2017
We packed up and left Port Hedland this morning for the 345 km drive to Dales Campground in Karijini National Park. There were so many road trains carrying iron ore on this road and they usually consisted of four trailers and a prime mover and something like 55 metres in overall length - quite intimidating. We stopped for lunch at Auski roadhouse before venturing on to Dales Campground arriving at around 3 pm. Once there we set up our outdoor chairs and simply relaxed being too tired to do anything else.
Day 44 - Port Hedland - 11th September 2017
Today was essentially a rest day as we chose not to go anywhere other than on foot. We walked the nearby beach with it's small clumps of mangroves just off shore and explored the small river that bordered the other side of our caravan park. A game of table tennis with Sue, a couple of swims in the pool and reading books is how we filled in the rest of the day
