We were up early today so as to pack up motorhome in preparation for our move to Peoples Park which is the second caravan park here in Coral Bay. As an interim measure we left the motorhome in a public parking area so that we could join our 3 hour snorkelling/glass bottom boat tour leaving from the beach at 8.45 a.m. The next three hours were a truly wonderful experience led by our youthful and enthusiastic crew of jack,Tayla and Jess. We got to see a great variety of awesome corals of differing sizes as well as many different coloured fish species and also a good many turtles - hawksbill and loggerhead. Sue enjoyed the bit of snorkelling she got to indulge in despite being very cold. I chose not to go in as I'd been feeling off colour for the past few days. Following our tour we located ourselves in Peoples Park which as it turned out had two distinct areas. The front zone had access to a keyed facilities block whereas the rear zone had an open facilities block which was fine until it came time for the cleaners to clean this block at which point there was no toilet access other than a single toilet at the nearby retail strip. This led to a bit of an angry exchange by myself with the managers given my condition and their refusal to provide me with a key to the front zone facilities block. Later that day Sue went for a walk along the beach as far as the headland lookout and back The evening was spent reading and planning more of our adventure.
