Day 55 - Coral Bay - 22 September 2017

We had a very leisurely start to the day today reading in bed and finally surfacing at around 10 a.m. We then set off on foot to the other end of the bay known as "skeleton bay" which is a known shark nursery. A number of different shark species congregate here in breeding season and they include a variety of reef sharks and lemon sharks. There would have been around 50 to 60 sharks here quite close to shore but unfortunately the wind and choppy waves made them somewhat difficult to see. Then it was back to the local bakery for a much needed coffee and a delicious breakfast pie. The afternoon was spent snorkelling in the bay area after first trying around the headland but realising that the swell made it too choppy. The bay area once again provided what we needed with many colourful fish and lovely corals. Then back to the motorhome for dinner and a movie.
