Day 86 - Robe to Yambuk Lake - 23 October 2017

On a cool and cloudy morning we set off on quite a rough road through Radiata Pine forests en route to Mount Gambier. Here we visited the famous Blue Lake which had yet to turn blue this year but it was still very beautiful. Then it was on to an unusual geological feature know as the Umpherston Sinkhole which has been adapted to accommodate a beautiful garden. We explored this in full before driving on across the border to Nelson in Victoria where we walked to the main surf beach. One of our friends is quite attached to this little township and I can see why - it is quaint and beautiful. On leaving Nelson we headed to our destination for the night, the delightful small camping ground at Yambuk Lake. Our site with views over the river was simply the best. A walk to the beach among native bush and wildflowers topped off the day.
