Today was a rest and relaxation day. We stayed at Kimberleyland caravan park all day and spent some time chatting with neighbours including a Dutch couple who are travelling the world in a revamped ex army vehicle that looked very impressive. Sue spent a little time trying to clean our motorhome exterior and we both spent some time having a swim in the pool and relaxing with a book each.
Our blog created to record our experiences as we travel around the western side of Australia during the winter of 2017. Still trying to see as much of the planet as possible. We hope you enjoy our observations and holiday snaps.

Day 33 - Lake Argyle to Kununurra - 31st August 2017
Set off this morning for the short drive to Kununurra but first we took a quick detour up the one lane road to the lookout which gave views over the Ord River Dam wall and Lake Argyle. Then to Kununurra where we enquired about tours to Purnululu National Park (Bungle Bungle National Park) before checking into Kimberleyland caravan park. We had lunch and then set off again for a drive to Ivanhoe Crossing on the Ord River where we witnessed what I thought was foolish behaviour i.e. a man standing in the water on the crossing fishing while seeming oblivious to the undoubted risk of crocodiles being present. Following this we headed back to town stopping briefly at a small lookout (Kelly's Knob) before then taking Hidden Valley Road to the nearby Mirima rock formations. This proved to be like a mini Purnululu and we enjoyed our walk in and around the quite beautiful rock formations before heading back to the caravan park for a quiet evening as we were both quite tired by then.
