Day 10 - Yulara to Curtin Springs - Tuesday 8th August 2017

After a long awaited, lovely, hot shower at Uluru campground we set off at 9.30 a.m. for Kata Tjuta (formerly the Olgas) some 53 kms further west along the Lasseter Highway. En route we stopped at a couple of viewing areas before proceeding to the carpark at Kata Tjuta itself the Walpa Gorge carpark. From here we set out on foot and walked firstly to Walpa Gorge itself and then to Karu lookout it being the first lookout in the Valley of the Winds. The whole area was exceptionally beautiful and along the way we saw many beautiful wildflowers as well as a great variety of birds. Upon completing this outing we returned to the motorhome and drove eastwards to Curtin Springs homestead and had a drink in the bar after first having secured a spot for the night in the free campground behind the homestead.
