Woke to a lovely sunny but cool morning setting off at around 9.30 a.m. Sue drove for the first 100 km or so to the Eridunda roadhouse at the junction of the Stuart and Lassiter Highways. After fuelling up I took over and drove the rest of the way to the Yulara Visitors Centre. Along the way we saw Mount Conner in the distance and mistakenly thought we were seeing Uluru - I suspect many others have made the same mistake. At the Visitors Centre we made enquiries about tours and walks around Uluru to ready ourselves for the next day. Then we headed 28 km back down the road we'd come in on to spend the night at the Sandy View rest area. We had an early night as we were planning to get up early to view sunrise at Uluru.
